Laws Whiskey House Four Grain Straight Cask Bourbon Whiskey
Laws Whiskey House Four Grain Straight Cask Bourbon Whiskey is the Denver distillery's flagship — a 47.5% ABV (95 proof), 750mL straight bourbon built on America's four mother grains: 60% corn, 20% heirloom wheat, 10% heirloom rye and 10% heirloom malted barley. Laws cooks it as an open-air, on-grain sour mash, runs it through a copper pot-column still, and ages it more than three years in new 53-gallon charred oak barrels — milled, fermented, distilled and aged entirely on-site, grain to glass, from two Colorado family farms. The payoff is a bourbon of unusual delicacy for 95 proof: orange blossom and black tea, vanilla custard and sweet tobacco. Double Gold at the 2024 SIP Awards; Platinum at the 2023 Ascot Awards. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Four Grains, One Flagship
Founder Al Laws built the distillery in 2011 around a simple conviction: heirloom grain, grown at altitude by Colorado families, makes better whiskey. Four Grain — bottled in 100-barrel batches — is where that conviction lands. Each grain plays a role: corn for sweetness, wheat for softness, rye for spice, malted barley for depth. It earned its place at the head of our bourbon whiskey shelf, and the Laws Whiskey House collection covers the ryes that share the same farms.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Orange blossom, black tea, honey, dusty pepper. Palate: Pekoe tea, orange peel, cinnamon, vanilla custard, sweet tobacco and spice. Finish: Rich and dry.
How to Enjoy
Neat is the honest way — the tea and tobacco notes show best unmixed. A splash of water opens the orange blossom; for an Old Fashioned, this is a refined, spice-leaning choice.
