Laws Whiskey House Four Grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Laws Whiskey House Four Grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a 750mL Colorado bourbon bottled at 95 proof (47.5% ABV), made grain-to-glass in Denver from a four-grain mash — 60% heirloom corn, 20% heirloom wheat, 10% heirloom rye and 10% heirloom malted barley — grown by two Colorado family farms. Each grain is cooked individually to bring out its own character, fermented as an open-air sour mash, distilled on site, and aged at least three years in new 53-gallon charred oak barrels in Denver's high-altitude climate. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Four Heirloom Grains, One Denver Distillery
Laws does whiskey the slow way: it grows nothing it cannot trace, working with two Colorado family farms that raise heirloom varietals of wheat, rye and barley alongside the corn, then mills, cooks, ferments, distills and ages everything under its own roof in Denver. The labor-intensive part is the cooking — each grain gets its own treatment so the wheat stays soft, the rye stays spicy and the barley stays rich, before an open-air sour mash fermentation adds its soulful complexity. A mile up, the barrels breathe hard, and the bourbon shows it. Explore the house on the Laws Whiskey House vendor page, or browse our bourbon whiskey collection.
Tasting Notes
Per the distillery: orange blossom over black tea, honey and dusty pepper on the nose; pekoe tea, orange peel, cinnamon and vanilla custard on the palate, with sweet tobacco and spice leading to a rich, dry finish.
How to Enjoy
Neat to follow the tea-and-citrus arc, or in an Old Fashioned, where 95 proof and the rye share hold their ground against sugar and bitters. More Colorado whiskey is in our whisky collection.
