A Piece of Rum History, From a Wooden Still

The Port Mourant still — built from greenheart wood and dating to the 18th century — is one of the oldest functioning stills in the rum world, and its heavy, fruity distillate cannot be replicated on any other equipment. Spinnaker's MPM is the wildest bottle in its debut lineup of four single casks from four iconic distilleries: the highest proof of the set, yet remarkably approachable, deepened by its short Texas bourbon-barrel finish. Find its siblings and more Demerara-style rum in our rum collection and spirits range.

Tasting Notes

An aromatic celebration of Christmas cake, apple pie, banana custard and flowery incense, with roasted chestnut and coconut-husk earthiness underneath. The palate is the sweetest and fruitiest of the Spinnaker lineup — overripe plantain, grilled pineapple, candied ginger, fresh blueberry, maple syrup, raisins, baking spice and spearmint — closing on candied orange peel.

How to Enjoy

Neat, rested, with water added drop by drop to open the fruit — despite 63.2% ABV it drinks approachably straight from the bottle. A small pour also transforms a Mai Tai built from our cocktail shelves. Collectors should see the rare and top shelf collection for the rest of the debut set.
