Aged 9 years and 11 months in a heavy char ex-rum cask at The Main Rum Company in Liverpool, with no added sugar, it is one of the two inaugural Rumcast Reserve casks, chosen in person at Main Rum's warehouse. The Versailles still — a single wooden pot still, one of the last wooden stills on earth, now working at Demerara Distillers' Diamond plant — produces the VSG marque, the Demerara style most prized by the independent bottlers who built the Guyana cult. This cask was filled at Main Rum in Liverpool on March 27, 2015 at 59.6% ABV and rested in the Plutus and Dempster warehouses until it was decanted on February 25, 2025 for the United States. Tasting Notes
Nutty caramel, dark chocolate, pecan, clove, butterscotch and Demerara sugar on the nose. The palate runs caramel, oak, prunes, cherry, cola and milk chocolate with buttery wood and honey, closing on a long caramel finish — classic wooden-still depth at a manageable cask strength.
