Ron Centenario Conmemorativo 9 Year Old Rum
Ron Centenario Conmemorativo 9 Year Old Rum is a Costa Rican special reserve, blended from rums aged up to nine years in American white oak barrels that previously held Scotch whisky. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750mL bottle, it pours drier and more citrus-led than the younger Ron Centenario Añejo Especial 7 Year Old Rum, with the fine aroma and elegant flavor the house reserves it for.

The Story
The “9 Grados” on the label is the 9th parallel north — the latitude of Centenario's aging cellar, set in a biodiverse corridor of rivers and rainforest where pure mountain water, steady humidity and volcanic country age the rum, in the brand's words, “by nature.” The Conmemorativo was created about a decade after the birth of Costa Rica's first rum, drawn from a special reserve of oak-aged rums singled out by the master blender for their aroma and elegance. In the range it sits between the Añejo Especial 7 and the Ron Centenario 12 Gran Legado Rum.
Tasting Notes
The nose gives wood, spice, citrus and caramelized sugar with a touch of vanilla. On the palate it is notably drier than the 7 Year: lemon zest and lemon oil, green banana, caramel, Bing cherry and a whisper of maraschino, finishing clean and lightly spiced.
How to Enjoy
Best neat or with a few drops of water to open the citrus and caramel. Its drier profile also suits spirit-forward rum cocktails. Explore more Costa Rican and Caribbean bottles in our rum collection.
