Naga Malacca Indonesian Spiced Rum
Naga Malacca Indonesian Spiced Rum is Naga's spiced expression from Indonesia, built on Batavia arrack — the historic Javanese rum style made from molasses fermented with red-rice yeast, distilled in Chinese pot stills and column stills and aged one to two years in ex-bourbon barrels. The aged rum is then infused with the flavors of the Spice Islands it is named for: kumquat peel, Indonesian jambu (Java apple), citronella lemongrass, cinnamon and coriander, finished with a touch of burnt cane sugar and bottled non-chill filtered at 40% ABV in a 700mL bottle. Wine Enthusiast awarded the Naga Asian rums 90 points. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Named for the Strait That Carried the Spice Trade
Malacca was the port where ships loaded Asian fruits and spices for Europe, and Naga — Indonesia being the world's largest spice producer — built its spiced rum as a tribute. This is no vanilla-bomb spiced rum: the aged arrack base stays in charge, and the infusion sits on top as fresh citrus and spice. Shop more rum from around the world at Del Mesa.
Tasting Notes
Sweet citrus on the nose, with kumquat bringing lemon and orange tones over roasted nuts and vanilla. The palate adds fresh jambu, lemongrass and cinnamon with a base of tobacco and tropical fruit, and the finish is fresh and moderately sweet, with mandarin and spice lingering.
How to Enjoy
Pour it in a Cuba Libre, an Old Fashioned, or the importer's Asian Espresso Martini — Malacca, coffee liqueur and a shot of espresso. It also sips beautifully neat in a tulip glass. See more cocktail staples and spirits at Del Mesa Liquor.
