Mainland 7 Year Old Georgia Rum
Mainland 7 Year Old Georgia Rum is a single-barrel American rum from Mainland Rum, the independent bottler founded by Seth Benhaim of Broken Barrel Whiskey to champion rum made in the continental United States — distilled from molasses in 2017 at Ghost Coast Distillery in Savannah, Georgia, aged seven years in a single 53-gallon ex-bourbon barrel, and bottled at full cask strength, 57.9% ABV (115.8 proof), in a 750mL bottle. There is no blending, no dilution and no additives — no sugar and no coloring — and the one barrel produced only 192 bottles. Ghost Coast has since shut its doors, so no more of this spirit is being made. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The First Independent American Rum Bottler
Mainland was launched by Seth Benhaim — the entrepreneur behind Broken Barrel Whiskey — as the first independent American rum bottler, built around rare, discontinued and well-aged single barrels sourced from distilleries across the continental U.S. The Georgia barrel is the program at its most poignant: Ghost Coast Distillery in Savannah has closed, which makes this 2017 distillate a fixed, finite piece of American rum history — seven humid Southern summers in a single ex-bourbon barrel, and nothing behind it. Find the bottler's other states in our rum collection and across the spirits shelves.
Tasting Notes
A barrel-driven profile of almond, marzipan and honey over a molasses core — Mainland compares its elegance to a Highland malt — with warming spice and a subtle peppery edge on the finish.
How to Enjoy
Taste it neat first, then add a few drops of water to bring the honey and nut notes forward. It is a rum for whiskey drinkers as much as rum fans; compare it with the cask strength pours in our American whiskey collection and the single barrels in barrel picks.
