The Monarch Lives Up to the Name
Dewar's calls its second maturation "double aging": after the component whiskies are blended, the whole marriage goes back into oak casks to harmonize — and fifteen years of it shows. The Monarch pours honeyed and round, with butterscotch, toffee, and dried fruit over the honeyed Aberfeldy malt character that anchors Dewar's blends. It was good enough to take 1st place for Best Blended Scotch 15 Year Old at the 2026 International Whisky Competition — a blended Scotch that drinks like it has something to prove, and proves it.
