Coronado Rompope Vanilla Cream Liqueur is Mexico's answer to eggnog — a traditional cream liqueur at 10% ABV (20 proof) in a 1-liter bottle, handcrafted by Rompope Coronado S.A. de C.V. from fresh cream, world-famous Papantla vanilla beans, egg yolks and fine Veracruz rum. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Rompope: The Cream Liqueur of Mexico's Celebrations

Rompope dates back to colonial-era convents, where nuns first blended milk, sugar, eggs and vanilla into the drink Mexico now reaches for at Christmas and family fiestas — often called the "Bailey's of Mexico" or Mexican eggnog. Coronado's version keeps the classic formula: real dairy cream, genuine Papantla vanilla and a measured pour of rum, for a silky, vanilla-forward pour that drinks like dessert in a glass.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet vanilla taffy, marshmallow and powdered sugar. Palate: Rich, creamy and indulgent — vanilla custard, light coconut and soft egg-cream roundness. Finish: A long vanillin fade that lingers pleasantly, never cloying.

How to Enjoy

Serve it chilled and neat, or pour over ice for an after-dinner treat — it also floats beautifully over a scoop of vanilla ice cream and stirs beautifully into coffee for a Mexican café de olla twist. A Delicious Treat

I have reviewed this product before and still think it is delicious. The alcohol content is low (20 proof/10%), so it goes down easy. I like it as an after dinner drink or for sipping while watching a movie or reading a book.

Yummy! A Guilty Pleasure

This stuff is so decadent! It’s like a liquid custard. Great as a dessert or just nice to sip on after a long day. I generally have it on the rocks. I think it’s best served cold.
