Casa Limonio Giada Lemon Liqueur is Sicily's take on limoncello from Casa Limònio, the family liqueur house in Partinico, in the hills west of Palermo, founded in 1992 by Vincenzo Russo and still run by the Russo family. Giada is made from Femminello Zagara Bianca lemons grown in the Conca d'Oro valley around Palermo, infused and blended with Sicilian grape distillate, water and sugar, then bottled unfiltered at 35% ABV in a 500mL bottle — so the natural lemon oils stay in the bottle and it pours a naturally cloudy, bright yellow-green. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A Family Limoncello from Partinico

The Russo family grows its citrus organically, picks fruit and botanicals by hand in season, and makes every liqueur from old family recipes: the raw ingredient is infused in stainless steel, then blended with Sicilian grape distillate. Nothing is filtered, which is why Giada keeps its deep color and fresh, oily lemon character instead of the polished, sugary profile of a mass-market limoncello. Tasting Notes

Deep, fresh lemon on the nose — zest, juice and blossom at once. The palate is warm and persistent, with bright natural acidity under the sweetness, and the finish is soft rather than sugary, leaving clean lemon oil behind.

How to Enjoy

Keep the bottle in the freezer and pour it ice-cold after dinner, the Sicilian way. It is equally at home alongside cake, fresh fruit or gelato, or shaken into a lemon spritz. See more cocktail ingredients at Del Mesa Liquor.
