Bounty Gold Rum
Bounty Gold Rum is the best-selling rum on Saint Lucia — "The Spirit of Saint Lucia" — and the flagship of St. Lucia Distillers, the Roseau Valley house formed in 1972 when the Barnard family's Dennery distillery merged with the Geest family's Roseau Bay operation. It is made from molasses, distilled on the distillery's Coffey column still, and aged around two to three years in ex-bourbon barrels, then bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750mL bottle. The distillery describes light butterscotch aromas and a candied-fruit nose, opening soft with rich raisin, honey and vanilla spice from the oak. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.
