Arak Brun Special Reserve 10 Years is Lebanon's most storied arak at its most refined: triple-distilled in artisan copper alembics from native Obeidi grapes and estate-grown anise, then rested for a full 10 years in old Lebanese clay jars, bottled at 53% ABV (106 proof) in a 750mL bottle. The decade in clay rounds the spirit into something remarkably smooth for its strength — sweet anise, herbs and a whisper of earth. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

A Century and a Half of Lebanese Distilling

Domaine des Tourelles has been making arak since 1868 — longer than anyone else in Lebanon — and the Special Reserve is its flagship expression. Obeidi grapes from high-altitude Bekaa Valley terraces are fermented and distilled three times in copper, then married with anise the estate has grown itself since 2015. Ten years in traditional clay jars is almost unheard of for arak, and it shows: depth, balance and an elegance that shorter-aged araks can't touch. Tasting Notes

Sweet anise and licorice lead, with floral notes, aged herbs and a hint of earthy clay on the nose. The palate is creamy and velvety — deep anise, subtle spice, a whisper of clay — with a long, elegant, clean anise finish.

How to Enjoy

Serve the traditional way: one part arak to two parts cold water, then add ice and watch it bloom cloudy-white — the louche effect that releases the anise aromatics. It is the classic companion to mezze, grilled meats and long Mediterranean dinners.
