Statesman began as a partnership with the 2017 film Kingsman: The Golden Circle, in which the Statesman is the American spy agency — Kingsman's US counterpart — fronting as Louisville bourbon distillers. Old Forester, America's first bottled bourbon (1870), built the bourbon to match: its own Kentucky straight bourbon, blended only from casks resting in the warmest places in the warehouse, because, in the brand's line, true character is only revealed after a little heat. Tasting Notes
Per the producer's current notes: spiced baked apples and rye spice over raw vanilla and sweet oak on the aroma; apple pie and cream soda complemented by pepper, cinnamon and sweet leather on the palate; and an intense but quick spice finish, with subtle eucalyptus fading into orange cream and caramel. The brand notes it scored over 90 points at the 2018 International Whisky Competition.
