Colorado Outlaw Spirit in a Bottle
Mystic Mountain Distillery named this whiskey for Black Jack Ketchum, the train-robbing outlaw of the Colorado territory, and the bottle carries that frontier attitude: small-batch, copper-still distilled, and unpretentious. Founded in 2005 in Larkspur, Colorado, Mystic Mountain is one of the state's early craft distilleries, and Ace's High is its everyday bourbon-style whiskey — youthful, bold, and priced for the home bar rather than the trophy shelf.
Tasting Notes
A young craft whiskey profile: expect grain-forward sweetness, light oak and vanilla with a peppery edge typical of small-still Colorado whiskey. Best approached as a lively mixer-friendly pour rather than a contemplative sipper.
How to Enjoy
Built for cocktails — a highball, whiskey sour, or a simple bourbon and ginger lets the youthful character shine. Also works over ice as an easy evening pour.
