Loch Lomond 'Kerr Cellars' Scotch Whisky 2002 is a 48.14% ABV single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2002 at Loch Lomond Distillery in Alexandria, Scotland — aged around 16 years in ex-bourbon casks, then finished for 10 months in French Vosges oak casks that previously held Cristie Kerr's 2016 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. When Golf Met the Stillhouse
The collaboration began by chance: during the 2017 Ladies Scottish Open, two-time major champion Cristie Kerr toured Loch Lomond Distillery and struck up a friendship that turned into a whisky. Kerr — the top-earning American woman in golf history — is also a St. Helena winemaker, and her Kerr Cellars 2016 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94 points, Wine Spectator) had just the right French oak to finish a mature Highland malt. The distillate year 2002 nods to the year of Kerr's first LPGA tour victory. Distilled on Loch Lomond's unusual dual still setup — traditional swan-neck pots alongside the distillery's signature Lomond still — the whisky takes the red-wine finish beautifully: red berries and dark chocolate over malt depth. Tasting Notes
Ripe red berries, black cherry, and dark chocolate on the nose with malt sweetness underneath. The palate layers plum and raspberry over honeyed oak, the Pinot Noir casks lending a vinous richness, finishing long with cocoa, soft tannin, and gentle spice.
How to Enjoy
Neat at room temperature to let the wine-cask influence show, or with a teaspoon of water to lift the berry notes. A natural pour for red-wine drinkers curious about Scotch.
