Ireland's First Modern Whiskey Bonder
J.J. Corry, founded in 2015 by Louise McGuane, revived a trade that died in the 1930s: the whiskey bonder, who sourced spirit from distilleries and matured and blended it at the family farm rackhouse — in this case, the McGuane farm in Cooraclare, Co. Clare. The Hanson is the house's flagship: marketed as the first blended grain Irish whiskey, deliberately built for the Highball, and named for Corry's son-in-law, the local excise man. Tasting Notes
Bright and approachable on the nose — vanilla fudge, toasted coconut, griddled pineapple, lime, and a hint of deep oak. The palate brings fresh green apples, lemongrass, and rye grass with ripe fruits and toasted vanilla; the finish is zingy, mineralic, and oily with a touch of ginger and warm spice.
