A Decade in a Tennessee Rick House
Heaven's Door — the whiskey partnership between Bob Dylan and Spirits Investment Partnership — launched in April 2018, and this 10 Year was its first step beyond the core range: a Tennessee straight bourbon aged through ten long, hot summers, its bottle decorated with Dylan's iron-gate artwork from his Black Buffalo Ironworks studio. It has since left the market — the brand later returned with a different 10-year bourbon in its Decade Series, but this charcoal-mellowed original is its own bottling, with its own low-rye recipe. Per the producer's launch notes: fresh baked bread and nougat on the nose; a rounded palate of semi-sweet grilled pineapple and candied walnuts; and a sweet-savoury finish of cooked peaches and steeped tobacco. F. Paul Pacult's Spirit Journal awarded the bottling Five Stars, its highest recommendation.
