The GlenDronach Revival Aged 15 Years is a 700mL Highland single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof) — the legendary sherried malt that disappeared in 2015 and triumphantly returned to the core range.

Matured for a full 15 years in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía, Spain, the Revival is GlenDronach's signature style at its most expressive: dark, rich and unapologetically sherried. Bottled non-chill filtered at natural color, it carries the official tasting character the distillery is famous for — an intensely fruity, chocolate-laden dram from the distillery founded by James Allardice in 1826. Tasting notes (official): Nose: Maraschino cherry, ripe bramble and dark chocolate mint, with hints of orange bitters and walnut liqueur. Palate: Honey-glazed apricot and ripe fig with a crescendo of black cherry, angelica and muscovado. Finish: Long and enveloping — dark manuka honey, herbal bitters and dark chocolate.

Why buy it here: Sherry-cask whisky this well-aged and this decorated rarely stays on shelves; the Revival's disappearance and return only added to its cult status. Del Mesa Liquor ships it fast and packed to protect the bottle.

How to enjoy: Neat in a Glencairn, or with a teaspoon of water to open the fruit. Pair with dark chocolate for a classic match.

A combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía, Spain — the source of its deep color and rich dried-fruit character.
