The Original Sherry-Cask Highland Malt
GlenDronach has built its reputation on sherry-cask maturation since James Allardice founded the distillery in 1826, and the Original 12 — the flagship of the range relaunched in 2009 under Master Blender Dr Rachel Barrie's predecessors and refreshed in presentation in 2024, liquid unchanged — is where that reputation starts. Sweet PX casks and drier Oloroso casks together give the house balance of dark fruit and spice. Tasting Notes
Per the producer's current notes: a rich amber-red gold colour; a nose of sherried autumn fruits with smooth chocolate praline, gingerbread and sun-dried raisin; and a taste of caramelised bramble, silky orange and sultana with warming spice.
How to Enjoy
