James Allardice founded GlenDronach in 1826 near Forgue in Aberdeenshire — the "valley of the brambles" — and the 18 Year Old carries his name in the expression's heritage: a richly sherried Highland malt in the house style Master Blender Dr Rachel Barrie has stewarded since Brown-Forman's 2016 purchase of the distillery. Tasting Notes
Per the producer's current notes: an antique bronze colour with an amber hue; a nose of fudge and dark muscovado sugar with fruit compote and morello cherry; and a rich, dark palate of stewed fruits and allspice with aged Oloroso character, toasted walnut bread and chocolate orange.
How to Enjoy
