The Blend Fit for a Royal Household
James Buchanan founded his company in 1884 chasing a lighter, smoother bottled blend for the English market — the blend that won the House of Commons supply contract and, in 1898, a Royal Warrant to supply Queen Victoria and the Prince of Wales. Red Seal is the modern heir to the Royal Household blend Buchanan's later crafted for Edward VII's court: specially selected casks of aged malt and grain whiskies, with Dalwhinnie as the signature Highland malt at its heart, smoke from an Islay component underneath, and the house's smooth finish over all of it.
