Booker's Bourbon Batch 2023-02 "Apprentice Batch" is the second release of Booker's 2023 collection — a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, uncut and unfiltered, bottled at 125.5 proof (62.75% ABV) in 750mL after 7 years, 1 month and 2 days in oak. The batch honors the start of Booker Noe's own career: he joined the Jim Beam Distillery in 1952 and learned distilling as an apprentice under his cousin Carl Beam — the man who would later help him get the Boston, KY distillery running. The Batch That Honors Where Booker Started

Before Booker Noe created the small-batch category, he was a teenager learning the trade from his cousin Carl Beam at the Jim Beam Distillery. The "Apprentice Batch" tips its hat to that 1952 beginning — and Fred Noe's tasting verdict carries the family forward: "After the first sip, you'll find the long finish doesn't overpower the warm taste. I know Carl and Booker would've been proud of this batch." Like every Booker's, it's bottled exactly as it came out of the barrel — uncut, unfiltered, in the classic wooden box with the grey batch ticket. Tasting Notes

Per the brand's official release notes (via bourbon press): medium amber color; a pleasant oak-forward aroma balanced with vanilla and toasted nuts; warm on the palate, opening further with a small touch of water; a long finish that doesn't overpower the tasting experience.

How to Enjoy

With a splash of water or a large cube — at 125.5 proof it rewards dilution. Kentucky chew optional.
