Barsol Pisco Puro Quebranta is a 750mL Peruvian pisco bottled at 41.3% ABV, made entirely from Quebranta grapes grown in Peru's Ica Valley and produced at Bodega San Isidro. It is single-distilled in traditional alembic copper pot stills, distilled once to bottle proof — no water or other ingredients are added — and rested a minimum of one year in inert vessels, unwooded, as Peruvian pisco requires. The result is Peru's national spirit in its pure single-varietal form, and it is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

  • ABV: 41.3% (82.6 proof)
  • Size: 750mL
  • Grape: 100% Quebranta (single varietal, non-aromatic)
  • Origin: Bodega San Isidro, Ica Valley, Peru
  • Method: Small batch; single distillation in alembic copper pot stills, distilled to bottle proof — no water added
  • Ageing: None in wood — rested a minimum of 1 year in inert vessels

One Grape, One Distillation, No Water

Quebranta is Peru's signature pisco grape — a non-aromatic variety prized not for perfume but for structure and texture. BarSol was founded in 2002 by Diego Loret de Mola and Carlos Ferreyros, who acquired Bodega San Isidro, the historic Ica Valley distillery where this pisco is made. The method is the strict traditional one: the fermented Quebranta wine is run once through copper pot stills and brought off at bottle proof, so what the still delivers is what the bottle holds — no dilution step softens it. The brand was named the #1 Top Trending Pisco and #1 Best Selling Pisco in Drinks International's 2023 brands report. Tasting Notes

The brand's official notes open with pear, red apple, fresh-cut grass, dried fruit, pastry, fresh cream, cacao and citrus; the palate runs to ripe pear, red apple and red grape with citrus, roasted almond, walnut, pecan and dark chocolate, finishing round, elegant and long — weight and texture doing the work that oak does in other spirits.

How to Enjoy

This is the classic Pisco Sour build — pisco, lime, simple syrup, egg white and bitters — and it shines just as well in a Chilcano with ginger ale and lime. Served neat and lightly chilled, the cocoa texture shows at its clearest. More cocktail foundations are in our spirits collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Puro" mean in Barsol Pisco Puro Quebranta?
Puro means single-varietal: the pisco is made from one grape only — here, 100% Quebranta — rather than a blend of grape varieties.

Why is this pisco 41.3% ABV?
Because it is distilled to bottle proof. A single distillation brings it off the copper pot still at 41.3% ABV and no water is added afterwards, so the bottled strength is the still's own strength.

Is Barsol Pisco Puro Quebranta aged?
Not in wood. Peruvian pisco is an unwooded grape brandy; this bottling rests a minimum of one year in inert vessels before bottling, keeping the grape's fruit and texture front and centre.
