The Reveries Lancero 9 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey

The Reveries Lancero 9 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey is a hand-picked Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at barrel strength by The Reveries, the independent bottling project of T8KE. Drawn from a single barrel after nine years of aging, Lancero is bottled exactly as it came out of the cask — no dilution, no chill filtration, and nothing added — so the pour in your glass is the barrel's own unedited statement. Bottled at 118.6 proof, it delivers the full weight and concentration that only a true cask-strength single barrel can offer.

The Story

The Reveries is the premium bottling project of T8KE (Jay West), one of the most trusted palates in American whiskey. After years of traveling the country selecting casks for retailers and whiskey communities, he launched The Reveries in 2025 to bottle the barrels that stopped him in his tracks — exceptional single casks from prolific American distilleries, aged, kept, and bottled under his own label in Middleburg, Virginia. Every Reveries release is hand selected, always bottled at cask strength, and never filtered. Lancero is one such barrel: a nine-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon chosen on its own merits and bottled as a single-barrel release, meaning once this barrel is gone, this exact whiskey can never be recreated.

Tasting Notes

Nine years in Kentucky oak at full barrel proof give Lancero a deep, concentrated character. Expect a rich, full-bodied palate built on dark caramel, brown sugar, and vanilla bean, layered with well-seasoned oak, baking spice, and a dark cherry depth that unfolds as the whiskey opens in the glass. The 118.6 proof carries the flavors with real intensity and a long, warming finish of toasted oak and spice. A few drops of water soften the heat and pull the sweeter caramel and fruit notes forward — with a single barrel, every pour is a slightly new conversation.

How to Enjoy

Start with a small neat pour in a tasting glass and give it a few minutes to open up before the first sip. Add a few drops of water to compare how the profile shifts, or serve it over a single large ice cube for a cooler, slower pour. Lancero also makes a bold, barrel-proof base for an Old Fashioned built for drinkers who like their cocktails with backbone. However you serve it, take notes — a single barrel this distinctive rewards attention.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "single barrel" mean for The Reveries Lancero?
Every bottle of Lancero comes from one individual barrel of nine-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon, hand picked by T8KE for The Reveries. Unlike small-batch bourbons blended from many barrels, a single-barrel bottling expresses the character of that one cask alone.

What is the proof of The Reveries Lancero bourbon?
Lancero is bottled at barrel strength, 118.6 proof (59.3% ABV), exactly as drawn from the cask — uncut and unfiltered, with no water added before bottling.

Who makes The Reveries whiskey?
The Reveries is an independent bottling project by T8KE, who hand selects mature casks from established American distilleries and bottles them in Middleburg, Virginia. The whiskey in Lancero was distilled and aged in Kentucky for nine years.

How should I store and serve a barrel strength bourbon?
Store the bottle upright away from direct sunlight. Serve neat in a tasting glass, with a few drops of water, or over a large ice cube — at 118.6 proof, small additions of water noticeably change the profile.
