Pegasus Distillerie Orion Gin
Pegasus Distillerie Orion Gin is an organic French gin from Meursault, in the heart of Burgundy's Cote de Beaune, and the first release from the distillery founded in 2021 by master distiller Maxime Girardin, whose family has made wine in the region for three generations. The base is distilled from organic Burgundy wheat and barley with water drawn from an underground river more than 120 meters beneath the distillery, and the gin is built from five organic botanicals chosen for their terroir: citrus from Menton on the French Riviera, including bitter orange, and plants and a flower hand-harvested in the Swiss Alps, among them verbena, thyme, orange mint and monarda, over a classic core of juniper, lemon, orange flower, angelica and coriander. Each botanical is distilled separately in small batches on modern iStill cubic stills and the distillates are blended afterward, a method the house says gives Orion its aromatic purity and freshness. Bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a 750mL midnight-blue bottle meant to evoke the night sky, stoppered with a wooden Pegasus cork. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Between Sky and Earth
Pegasus Distillerie launched in the United States in 2024 and named Emilia Clarke its global ambassador. Orion — named for the constellation — pairs Mediterranean brightness from Menton citrus with high-altitude subtlety from Alpine plants, a journey between the sky and the earth in a single glass. Tasting Notes
Clean and softly sweet on the nose, with gentle juniper and bright citrus arriving first. The palate turns juicy and citrus-led — tangerine and orange peel over a viscous, rounded texture — with fresh mint and delicate Alpine florals underneath and the juniper settling into the background. A few drops of water, or a single cube, open a bloom of citrus and herb.
How to Enjoy
Pour it in a Gin and Tonic with a twist of lemon, a French 75 or a dry Martini — the house's own recommended serves. Its citrus purity also rewards sipping neat. Browse cocktails and gift sets at Del Mesa for more ways to pour it.
