Bedford Park 8 Year Old Guadeloupe Single Barrel Rum 2016 is a single-cask cane-juice rum from Toronto independent bottler Bedford Park, bottled in the United States by importer Raising Glasses — distilled in 2016 at Distillerie Bellevue in Capesterre, on Marie-Galante, the small island south of Guadeloupe, and matured its whole life in once-used bourbon barrel No. 17 before bottling in 2025 at cask strength, 64.3% ABV, in a 700mL bottle. Bellevue works in the agricole tradition — fresh sugarcane juice, column distilled — and the outturn is 236 bottles, non-chill filtered with no additives. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Marie-Galante Agricole, One Barrel Deep

Bellevue began as a sugar factory before turning to rum in the early 20th century, and its cane grows in the volcanic soil of Marie-Galante — some of the finest sugarcane ground in the French Caribbean. Bedford Park, which bottles single casks from the likes of Hampden and Caroni, found this cask by stumbling onto it: column distillation of fresh cane juice gives complexity even at a young age, and the full maturation in a single once-used bourbon barrel kept the spirit’s grassy brightness intact. RumX’s community scores Bedford Park among the most respected indie bottlers in rum. Find more agricole and cane-juice bottles in our rum collection and the wider spirits shelves.

Tasting Notes

Fresh-cut cane, green herbs and floral sweetness on the nose, with light vanilla and honey from the oak. The palate is bright, grassy and oily — citrus, pepper and toasted wood — and the finish runs long and dry, remarkable poise for 64.3%.

How to Enjoy

A ti’ punch built on this cask is a serious drink; it also sips beautifully neat with a splash of water to tame the strength. Build it with limes and cane syrup from our cocktail ingredients.
