Loco Puro Corazon Tequila
Loco Puro Corazon Tequila is a 750mL estate blanco tequila from Loco Tequila — cut only from the pure heart of the distillation, with heads and tails fully discarded, additive-free, produced in very limited quantities at Hacienda La Providencia in El Arenal, Jalisco. Each mouth-blown crystal bottle is individually numbered and presented in a case designed by artist Jan Hendrix. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.
Loco is an estate tequila in the strictest sense: 100% agave grown on the 200-year-old Hacienda La Providencia, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2006, farmed across 240 acres within three miles of the distillery and distilled under master tequilero Alberto Navarro. Puro Corazon — "pure heart" — takes only the most desirable center cut of the distillate, the fraction most blanco producers blend away. This is the crown jewel of the Loco range, made for sipping only.
Tasting profile: an extremely fresh expression — mint and eucalyptus with herbaceous fresh agave, cooked agave honey like piloncillo and pumpkin candy, green lemon and lemon blossom, and mineral notes of wet earth after rain. Serving note: neat, at room temperature, in a proper tequila glass — this is a blanco built to be studied, not shot.
