Loco Blanco Tequila

Loco Blanco Tequila is a 750mL estate blanco tequila from Loco Tequila — 100% agave grown at Hacienda La Providencia in El Arenal, Jalisco, distilled under master tequilero Alberto Navarro, and bottled to show terroir before oak ever enters the picture. Loco calls it the first terroir tequila. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Most blancos start where Loco Blanco leaves off. The estate model is the whole argument: 240 acres of estate agave within three miles of a 200-year-old hacienda that has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2006, harvested and distilled on site, additive-free. The founders were called "loco" for insisting tequila could be made like fine wine — single estate, terroir first. The Blanco is the proof of concept, and the foundation the Ambar and Puro Corazon are built on.

Tasting profile: mint and eucalyptus over herbaceous fresh agave, cooked-agave honey like piloncillo and pumpkin candy, green lemon and lemon blossom, and a mineral edge of wet earth after rain — ethereal aromatics with a rich agave identity. Serving note: neat in a flute or tequila glass — or in a margarita that finally tastes like agave.

What makes Loco Blanco a "terroir tequila"? It is made only from agaves grown on the estate at Hacienda La Providencia in El Arenal, Jalisco — grown, harvested, and distilled on one historic property.

Is Loco Blanco additive-free? Yes — Loco states its tequilas are additive-free.

How is it different from Puro Corazon? Puro Corazon is cut only from the heart of the distillation in very limited, numbered bottles; Blanco is the estate's flagship terroir expression.

What size is the bottle? 750mL.
