Codigo 1530 Rosa Tequila
Codigo 1530 Rosa is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL blanco tequila rested for 1 month in uncharred French white oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet — just long enough to pick up a natural rose-pink hue from the wine wood, with no added colour. Made from 100% fully matured blue Weber agave from Amatitán, in the Los Bajos lowlands of Jalisco, Mexico, it is the most distinctive-looking bottle in the Codigo 1530 range. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A Blanco That Blushes
Most pink tequilas get their colour from additives or a long barrel rest that turns them into reposados. Codigo's Rosa takes a smarter route: a single month in uncharred Cabernet barrels — short enough to stay a blanco under the rules, long enough for the wine-seasoned French oak to tint the spirit a soft rose and lend it a whisper of red-wine aroma. It is part of the range Ron Snyder, Federico Vaughan and George Strait launched in 2016 from Amatitán's long-private "los códigos" recipe. Find it in our tequila collection, browse the wider spirits shelf, or see the brand on the Codigo 1530 vendor page.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Bright agave with a red-wine lift. Palate: Fresh, lightly floral agave with a hint of wine-barrel fruit. Finish: Clean and bright, the floral note carrying through.
How to Enjoy
Chilled neat as a conversation pour, or in a Rosa margarita or paloma where the colour does half the presentation work.

Is the Rosa a reposado? No — at 1 month it sits below the 2-month reposado minimum, so it remains a blanco (the brand calls it a "Rosa Blanco"), with a blanco's bright agave character.
What does Codigo Rosa taste like? Bright, lightly floral agave with red-wine aromatics from the Cabernet barrels and a clean finish.
