Codigo 1530 Reposado is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL reposado tequila rested 6 months in French white oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet. Made from 100% fully matured blue Weber agave from Amatitán, in the Los Bajos lowlands of Jalisco, Mexico, it takes the blanco's bright agave and wraps it in half a year of wine-barrel warmth. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Six Months in Wine Country Wood

Codigo 1530 grew out of the private tequila Amatitán families shared under "los códigos" for generations, launched publicly in 2016 by Ron Snyder, Federico Vaughan and George Strait. Where most reposados rest in ex-bourbon barrels, Codigo's Cabernet-seasoned French oak steers the spirit toward amber colour, caramel and a soft wine-fruit depth while the lowland agave stays front and centre. Compare it with the rest of our tequila range, explore the wider spirits collection, or visit the Codigo 1530 vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Cooked agave, vanilla and a touch of pepper. Palate: Oak and caramel over the agave core in a smooth body. Finish: Balanced and warm, vanilla and wine-barrel fruit fading gently.

How to Enjoy

Neat or on the rocks as an easy sipper; it also builds a richer, oak-kissed margarita than a blanco can.
