Codigo 1530 Blanco Tequila
Codigo 1530 Blanco is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL blanco tequila, unrested and never barrelled, made from 100% fully matured blue Weber agave from Amatitán, in the Los Bajos lowlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Bottled clear and bright, it is the purest read on the recipe Amatitán families kept private for generations — the base spirit every aged Codigo starts from. The Original "Codigo," Straight Off the Still
Before there was a brand, there was a pour: the unnamed tequila a small Amatitán distillery made for local families, shared under "los códigos" — the codes. Ron Snyder, Federico Vaughan and George Strait launched it as Codigo 1530 in 2016, and the Blanco is that pour unchanged: lowland agave cooked, fermented and twice distilled, then bottled without a day in oak, so the earthy-mineral lowland character and citrus sweetness arrive exactly as distilled. Start with it in our tequila collection, browse the broader spirits range, or see the house on the Codigo 1530 vendor page.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Herbaceous — mint, grass and flower over cooked agave. Palate: Earthy-mineral lowland agave balanced against citrus sweetness. Finish: Black pepper and citrus, clean and bright.
