Cabo Wabo Anejo is a 40% ABV, 750mL añejo tequila made from 100% blue Weber agave, double distilled in the brand's fuller "Thick Cut" style and aged at least 12 months in American oak barrels. Created in 1996 by Sammy Hagar for his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, it is the boldest aged expression in the classic Cabo range. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Sammy Hagar's Cantina Tequila, Grown Up

Hagar started Cabo Wabo because the tequila at his Cabo San Lucas cantina wasn't good enough — he went looking for a richer, fuller-flavoured spirit and had it made his way, with a thicker cut of the distillate that keeps more of the agave's weight. The Anejo takes that bold base and gives it a year or more in American oak, rounding it toward vanilla, caramel and honey without losing the agave punch. It later became part of the Campari portfolio, but the cantina-born recipe never changed its stripes. Find it among our tequila range, browse the wider spirits shelf, or see the brand on the Cabo Wabo vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Vanilla and caramel over cooked agave. Palate: Woody depth with honey and chocolate notes in a bold, smooth body. Finish: Long, delicate and smooth.

How to Enjoy

On the rocks or neat as a rock-and-roll sipper; it also brings real depth to an añejo Old Fashioned.
