The Suave Idea: Añejo Depth, Silken Delivery

Arette's Artesanal Suave line is built for smoothness without thinness — estate agave cooked in stone and brick ovens at El Llano, fermented in open-air concrete tanks and double-distilled in pot stills, then given a full twenty months in ex-bourbon barrels for this añejo. The Orendain family has made tequila at El Llano since 1900 and launched Arette in 1986, naming it for the Olympic champion horse Arete. Wine Enthusiast scored this añejo 92 points for its honey-and-almond richness. Find it in our tequila collection, across the spirits range, or on the Arette vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Citrus, dried grass and dried tropical fruit over luminously golden spirit. Palate: Almond, walnut and vanilla with honey and fresh apple — soft and smooth in body. Finish: Long, with nutty black pepper and a ginger and lemon-peel lift.

How to Enjoy

Neat or on a single cube — the Suave line was made for sipping, and twenty months of bourbon-barrel rest rewards a slow pour.
