Arette Artesanal Reposado is a 40% ABV, 750mL reposado tequila from El Llano (NOM 1109) in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. From 100% estate-grown blue Weber agave, it is aged 11 months in American oak ex-bourbon barrels — nearly the full year the reposado class allows — for a light-golden spirit where the oak serves the agave rather than covering it. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Eleven Months — a Reposado That Uses the Whole Class

Reposado allows anything from two months to just under a year in oak, and Arette's Artesanal takes nearly all of it: eleven months in ex-bourbon American oak at El Llano, the Orendain family's distillery in the town of Tequila since 1900. The estate fruit is cooked in stone and brick ovens, fermented in open-air cement tanks and double-distilled in pot stills before its rest, so the barrel meets a spirit with real lowlands-agave character to work with. Pour it from our tequila shelf, compare it across spirits, or visit the Arette vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Light cooked agave, tropical fruit, vanilla and pepper. Palate: Cooked agave with light oak, butterscotch and baking spices — almond, cocoa and lime zest in support. Finish: Dry and toasty, soft and velvety.

How to Enjoy

Neat, on a cube, or in a top-shelf margarita — eleven months of oak gives it the body to carry a cocktail and the balance to sip solo.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is Arette Artesanal Reposado aged? Eleven months in American oak ex-bourbon barrels — close to the maximum the reposado category allows.

Is Arette an estate tequila? Yes — the agave is estate-grown in the Tequila Valley (lowlands) of Jalisco and distilled at the family's own El Llano distillery, NOM 1109.

What is the difference between Arette Artesanal and Clásico? The Artesanal line uses tighter distillation cuts and longer rests — this reposado's 11 months against the Clásico's shorter rest — for a fuller, more sipping-oriented style.
