One Year, One-hundred Thirty-one Wines
Every Édition of Grande Cuvée starts from a single harvest — here the 2015, a year of unprecedented heat and drought from May to mid-August that slowed development until late-summer rains saved the crop, harvested between August 31 and September 21. Krug's Cellar Master then built around it with reserve wines from eleven other years (42% of the final blend) to add the breadth and roundness each Édition demands. The back label carries a six-digit Krug iD that unlocks the bottle's full story. Browse the Krug collection and the Champagne collection at Del Mesa.
Tasting Notes
Light golden color with fine, vivacious bubbles. Aromas of flowers in bloom, ripe, dried, and citrus fruits, marzipan, and gingerbread; toasted notes of almond paste, quince, lemon, and limoncello follow on a palate that is at once generous and tightly wound, with a long, refreshing finish.
How to Enjoy
Serve well-chilled (around 50°F) in white-wine glasses rather than flutes to open the aromatics. It shines with roast poultry, lobster, or mushroom risotto — or on its own at the start of an evening. It will continue to develop in bottle for a decade or more.
