Don Alberto Blanco Tequila
Don Alberto Blanco Tequila is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL blanco from Tequilera Puerta de Hierro (NOM 1477) in El Arenal, Jalisco — 100% blue Weber agave from the Tequila Valley, slow-cooked in stone and brick ovens, fermented in stainless steel and double distilled in stainless pot stills, bottled unaged and crystal clear. It is the foundation of the Gran Reserva de Don Alberto range, the Partida family's premium label, and panel tasters consistently call it full-bodied for a blanco. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The Foundation of the Gran Reserva Range
Every aged tequila begins life as a blanco, and a house's blanco is its honest statement — no barrel sweetness to hide behind, just agave, fermentation and the still. Don Alberto's blanco makes that statement with valley agave slow-cooked in stone ovens at the Partida family's Puerta de Hierro distillery in El Arenal, the historic tequila town at the valley's heart. From here the range climbs through the blended Joven to the three-year Extra Anejo, and tasting the blanco first is the best way to understand what the barrels later add. Find the range on the Don Alberto vendor page, or compare other blancos across the tequila collection.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Cooked agave and wood with minerality, anise, sweet vanilla and a light smoke note. Palate: Lightly sweet — smoke, olive and black pepper over a mineral backbone, full-bodied for a blanco. Finish: Robust, the cooked agave returning with a soft smokiness.
How to Enjoy
This is the Margarita and Paloma bottle in the Don Alberto range — unaged tequila keeps its edge through citrus and ice. Chilled and neat, it also pours the way blancos are tasted at the distillery.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is blanco tequila aged? No. A blanco is bottled unaged, or after less than two months in inert vessels, which keeps it clear and agave-forward — this one is a true unaged blanco, not a blend.
Where in Jalisco is Don Alberto made? El Arenal, in the Tequila Valley (Los Valles) — the lowland valley around the town of Tequila, not the Los Altos highlands. The distillery is Tequilera Puerta de Hierro, NOM 1477.
How does it differ from the Don Alberto Joven? The Joven blends blanco with the house Extra Anejo for added oak depth; the Blanco is the unaged spirit entirely on its own.
