A Calavera Decanter Worthy of What's Inside

The Calavera — the decorated skull of Dia de los Muertos — is the centrepiece of this 2022 Dos Artes limited edition: a hand-painted ceramic decanter created with tattoo artist Mala Vida, filled with highlands extra anejo aged at least three years in oak at Destileria La Mexicana in Jesus Maria. Every decanter is a one-of-a-kind piece of folk art around a seriously aged tequila. Browse the Dos Artes collection, more tequila, and the wider spirits range at Del Mesa.

Tasting Notes

Deep amber with cooked agave, toasted oak and vanilla on the nose; dark caramel, dried fruit, cinnamon and cocoa across a rich, rounded palate; a long, warming finish of oak, sweet spice and lingering agave.

How to Enjoy

Sip it neat from a stemmed glass and let the oak and dried fruit open slowly — then keep the decanter. This is a display piece long after the last pour.
