Kyoto Blossom in a Piedmont Bottle

Every vermouth house has a classic range; Sakura is where Mancino steps outside it. The inspiration is Japanese — cherry blossom sourced from Kyoto, the flower of hanami season — married to an Italian violet note and the house's wormwood-bitter backbone, over an Italian white-wine base. The result pours pale pink and drinks floral without going soft: the blossom and violet lead, the bitterness closes. It is made in genuinely small quantities, around four thousand bottles a year, and it disappears accordingly. Find it with the rest of the house in our liqueurs collection, or see all four bottlings on the Mancino Vermouth vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Cherry blossom and violet over white flowers (official register). Palate: Floral and delicately fruity, the blossom carried on a sweet vermouth frame. Finish: Wormwood bitterness — the house signature keeping the florals honest.

How to Enjoy

Over ice with a splash of soda and a citrus twist for the aperitivo hour, or as the vermouth in a white Negroni where its florals do the talking. Keep the pours small and the bottle cold; it is a 500mL limited bottling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Sakura mean? Cherry blossom in Japanese — the blossom, sourced from Kyoto, is the headline botanical, paired with Italian violet in a vermouth that crosses the two traditions.

Is Mancino Sakura a regular product? It is a limited expression made in small annual quantities (about 4,000 bottles a year), so availability comes and goes between releases.

Is it sweet? Moderately — 130 g/l of sugar, less than the house's Bianco Ambrato, with a wormwood-bitter finish that keeps the floral character dry at the end.

Blossom, violet and wormwood — order Mancino Sakura Vermouth online from Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.
