Wyoming Whiskey Single Barrel Bourbon is 88 proof (44% ABV) of wheated bourbon from America's high plains — a 750mL single-barrel release distilled in Kirby, Wyoming, from a mash of 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley, all grown within about 100 miles of the distillery. Every expression is aged a minimum of five years in new charred oak, and the Big Horn Basin's brutal temperature swings — sustained 130-degree summers, below-zero winters — drive the whiskey in and out of the char with unusual intensity. The single-barrel format means each bottle is its own expression: caramel, vanilla, and oak at the core, with single barrels often showing cola, chocolate, dried fruit, toffee, citrus, and oak spice. Available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

As Wyoming as Wyoming Can Be

Wyoming Whiskey was founded on a bet that bourbon did not have to come from Kentucky to be great — and that the Big Horn Basin's arid, high-plains climate would make it better. The distillery hired bourbon hall-of-famer Steve Nally (formerly of Maker's Mark) to set it up, sourced non-GMO corn, winter wheat, and winter rye from partners in nearby Byron, and barreled at 110-115 proof for the long ride through Wyoming winters and summers. The single-barrel program is the top shelf of that program: individual barrels selected for exceptional character, bottled on their own. Tasting Notes

The house wheated-bourbon profile: inviting vanilla, caramel, and oak with a hint of cinnamon and spice; smooth and velvety on the palate with rich vanilla-caramel-oak and a touch of spice; clean, crisp finish. Single barrels layer on the extras — cola, chocolate, dried fruit, toffee, citrus, and oak spice, with a finish of candied orange, cocoa, butter crème, and toasted oak. Each barrel is its own bottle, so expect delicious variation.

How to Enjoy

Neat, with a few drops of water, or on a large cube — wheated bourbon's softness shows best without heavy dilution. It makes a velvety old fashioned and a genuinely elegant Manhattan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Wyoming Whiskey a wheated bourbon?
Yes — the mash bill is 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley, making it a wheat-forward bourbon rather than a rye-forward one.

Where is Wyoming Whiskey distilled?
In Kirby, Wyoming — the state's first legal distillery, founded with master distiller Steve Nally (formerly of Maker's Mark).

What does single barrel mean here?
Each bottle comes from one individual barrel rather than a blend of many, so every bottle has its own character within the Wyoming Whiskey profile.
