Ve De Di Triple Sec Liqueur is a Vietnamese orange liqueur from Về Để Đi, the Hanoi distillery founded in 2020 by poet and hospitality veteran Quan Hung Nguyen and Michael Rosen, imported in the US by Skurnik. Instead of Curaçao or Mediterranean oranges it uses green-skinned cam sành oranges from Hà Giang province in Vietnam's far north: the peels steep for 24 hours in a column-distilled spirit made from Red River rice, the infusion is redistilled in a pot still, and the result is sweetened with sugar from Nghe An and bottled at 40% ABV in a 700mL bottle — the strength of a Cointreau-style triple sec, so it holds its own in a shaken drink. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A Vietnamese Take on a Classic

Về Để Đi — "to return in order to go" — builds definitive Vietnamese versions of classic liqueurs from locally sourced ingredients, and its Triple Sec is the clearest example: a familiar orange liqueur rebuilt entirely from Vietnamese rice, sugar and cam sành oranges. Tasting Notes

Zesty citrus oils, fresh-squeezed juice, candied peel and orange blossom on the nose. The palate is punchy and oily with concentrated mandarin oil, and the finish carries a slight earthy bitterness that keeps it dry for a liqueur.

How to Enjoy

Reach for it in any cocktail that calls for orange liqueur: a Margarita, a Sidecar, a Mai Tai, a Cosmopolitan or a Corpse Reviver No. 2. See more spirits at Del Mesa Liquor.
