Jefferson's Ocean Aged At Sea Voyage 32 Wheated Mashbill is a 90-proof (45% ABV), 750mL wheated bourbon finished on a sea voyage — barrels of Kentucky bourbon that crossed the ocean, where constant motion, temperature swings, and salty air push the whiskey in and out of the oak. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Voyage 32 is the wheated-mashbill edition of Jefferson's famous Ocean experiment: instead of rye spice, wheat gives the bourbon a softer, sweeter foundation — and the sea aging adds what land aging cannot. The barrels travel the world by ship, and each voyage's route gives the whiskey a slightly different character, which is why every Ocean release is numbered. The result is a bourbon with classic wheated softness plus a distinctive maritime edge: caramel and vanilla with a whisper of sea salt.

Tasting profile: butterscotch, vanilla bean, and caramel on the nose; toasted caramel, allspice, and a saline note on the palate; a long, elegant finish of oak, nutmeg, and pecan. Browse the Jefferson's brand collection, more bourbon, and the full whisky collection.

Serving note: pour neat or over a single cube — the sea-aged character shows best with nothing in the way.

What does "aged at sea" mean? The barrels travel by ship across the ocean; motion, climate variation, and sea air accelerate and deepen the oak interaction.

What is a wheated mashbill? A bourbon recipe using wheat instead of rye as the secondary grain — softer and sweeter than rye bourbons.

What is the proof? 90 proof (45% ABV).

Is every voyage the same? No — each numbered voyage follows a different route, so every release has its own character.
