Pisco Acholado | 750mL | 41% ABV (82 proof) | Peru — Viñas de Oro Pisco Acholado is a Peruvian grape-blend pisco from Bodegas Viñas de Oro in El Carmen, Chincha, in the Ica Valley — about 133 miles south of Lima. As an "acholado," it blends pisco grapes (official importer spec: 50% Quebranta, 50% Italia) into a floral, citrusy spirit: grapes harvested February–April, pressed on an Italian grape press, fermented 7–15 days on natural yeast in steel tanks, single-distilled in a copper alembic still, and rested 10–12 months in stainless steel. Bottled at 41% ABV under Peru's Denomination of Origin rules. Available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor in San Diego, CA.

Pisco is South America's signature brandy — and Peru's Denomination of Origin is strict: single distillation, no water added after distillation, no oak aging. Viñas de Oro (opened 1983 by Pedro and Mario Brescia) is one of Ica's established houses, Globalgap certified. The acholado style is the blender's art of pisco: Quebranta's earthy structure lifted by Italia's floral aromatics — the classic base for a Pisco Sour.

Tasting notes

Nose: light floral aromas of honey-laced blossoms, herbaceous citrus. Palate: soft and silky — lemon, aloe, earthy spices, a hint of anise and vanilla. Finish: smooth and long, with fresh apple and pear (importer sheet + retailer consensus).
