Tres Aromas Extra Anejo Barrel Select Tequila is an 80-proof (40% ABV) extra anejo rested a full 24 months in French oak barrels at NOM 1477 — Tequilera Puerta de Hierro in Jalisco. Two years in French oak puts this deep into extra-anejo territory: the 100% Blue Weber agave, stone-oven cooked and traditionally distilled, picks up layers of vanilla, dark chocolate, and baking spice that read closer to fine cognac than to blanco tequila. The "Barrel Select" name is earned — this is barrel character you can taste in every sip. This 750mL bottle is for the top shelf. Order it online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Two Years in French Oak

Extra anejo is tequila's oldest official category, and Tres Aromas' Barrel Select earns the name with 24 months in French oak — a long, slow maturation that trades agave brightness for depth. French oak (tighter-grained than American) imparts subtler spice and silkier tannins, and two years is enough to build real complexity without burying the agave entirely. Stone-oven cooking and traditional distillation keep the spirit's foundation honest. Compare it against other long-aged pours in our tequila collection or browse the Tres Aromas range.

Tasting Notes

Vanilla bean and caramel up front, deepening into dark chocolate, cinnamon, and toasted oak. The agave shows as baked sweetness underneath rather than fresh vegetal notes — long, silky, and warming on the finish.

How to Enjoy

Neat in a snifter, the way you'd pour a VSOP cognac. This is not a mixing tequila — save it for after dinner.

AMAZING TEQUILA WITH AN EXCELLENT TASTE!

It was easy to shop online. When I saw the bottle, it immediately got my attention. To think that someone put so much effort into designing that bottle what's inside had to be good. It was better than good, it was amazing. The flavor is just right, not too sweet or harsh. The balance between the two profiles makes this a special product. I bought two more to give to friends and will definitely be buying again. Thank you, Del Mesa Liquor, for bringing this brand into your portfolio.
