The story is coopering: the cask builders and repairers whose expertise decides a whisky's character, celebrated through the Balvenie's rare on-site cooperage and its cooper teams in both Speyside and Jerez. This is the first and only whisky in the Stories Collection fully matured in European oak Oloroso sherry butts, bottled non-chill-filtered at natural color — deep amber, almost ruby. Ripe fruits, caramelized orange peel, toasted oak, rich toffee, honey, berries, and white pepper on the nose; bold currants, cherries, raisins, Christmas-cake spice, chewy fig, and dried fruits on the palate; a long, creamy, nutty finish.
