A Two-Families Project in the Alentejo

Santos da Casa is the flagship label of Santos & Seixo, a family project begun in 2010 by two longtime family friends, Alzira dos Santos and Pedro Seixo, with a first harvest in the Douro and Alentejo; the label itself launched in 2015. In the Alentejo — Portugal's sun-baked south, all hot, dry summers under a Mediterranean climate with continental edges — the Reserva is the house's serious red: destemmed and crushed to vat, cold-macerated, fermented under temperature control, and put through its malolactic fermentation in French oak before a full year in barrel. Find more Portuguese bottles in our red wine collection and the producer's range on the Santos e Seixo vendor page.

Tasting Notes

The producer publishes no tasting note for this bottling; retailer descriptions of the 2015 describe ripe red fruit with a vanilla nuance from the oak, an intense palate, fleshy tannins, and a long, persistent finish — a full-bodied Alentejo style.

How to Enjoy

Decant for 30 minutes and serve at 16–18°C. Pair with roast lamb, grilled Iberian pork, mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses. The wider cellar is in our wine collection.
