Roaming Road 18 Year Old Belize Rum
Roaming Road 18 Year Old Belize Rum is a single-cask Belizean rum from Roaming Road Spirits, the independent bottling project of Mike Gilmore — a former Wyoming liquor store owner and respected barrel picker who launched the brand in September 2024 to bottle one-off casks of 250 or fewer bottles at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky, never to be repeated. This cask was distilled in Belize from 100% pure sugar cane molasses on a column still, aged and matured eighteen years in American oak — an ex-bourbon cask — and bottled at cask strength, 62.7% ABV (125.4 proof), in a 750mL bottle, with no added sugars and no additives. Belize has one rum distillery of note, Travellers Liquors in Belize City, a family operation that has been distilling molasses rum on column stills since the 1950s, and Belizean rum at this age is almost never bottled at full strength. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Eighteen Tropical Years in a Single Ex-Bourbon Cask
Roaming Road's Belize casks have quietly become favorites among independent-bottler collectors, and this one is the oldest yet: eighteen years of tropical maturation concentrated the Travellers molasses character into something dessert-like without ever turning cloying. Bottled straight from the one cask at 62.7% ABV with nothing added, it is a piece of Belizean distilling that will never be repeated. Collectors of ultra-aged rum should also browse our rum collection and the rare and top shelf shelves.
Tasting Notes
Dried fruit, raisin, cola, brioche and baking spices — the pastry-and-dried-fruit profile drinkers prize in Travellers casks — over dark caramel, vanilla and seasoned oak, with the cask strength giving the finish real length.
How to Enjoy
Serve it neat in a proper glass and let the proof settle; a few drops of water open the raisin and brioche notes. More single-cask bottlings live across our spirits range.
