Roaming Road 11 Year Old Thailand Rum
Roaming Road 11 Year Old Thailand Rum is a single-cask Thai rum from Roaming Road Spirits, the independent bottling project of Mike Gilmore — a former Wyoming liquor store owner and respected barrel picker who launched the brand in September 2024 to bottle one-off casks of 250 or fewer bottles at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky, never to be repeated. This cask was distilled in Thailand from 100% pure sugar cane molasses on a column still, aged and matured eleven years in American oak — a once-used ex-bourbon cask — and bottled at cask strength, 59.5% ABV (119 proof), in a 750mL bottle, with no added sugars and no additives. Fewer than 190 bottles came from the cask. Thailand has a long cane-spirit tradition, but almost none of its aged rum leaves the country as a single-cask bottling, which is what makes this release interesting rather than merely unusual. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A Thai Cask, Bottled the Independent Way
Roaming Road was founded on a simple frustration: remarkable single casks kept disappearing into big producers' blends. Gilmore travels to distilleries and rack houses to hand-select each cask, and every release is bottled from that singular cask at full strength with the facts printed on the label. Thai rum is a genuine rarity on the American shelf — the country's cane spirits are mostly consumed at home — so an eleven-year-old, additive-free, cask-strength single cask is a find. Tasting Notes
Rich vanilla and delicate oak from the ex-bourbon cask, with citrus, clove and a musty, cellar-like note on the nose, then baking spices, clove and black pepper on the palate and a warm finish of baking spice — a spice-forward profile that stands up well to a few drops of water.
How to Enjoy
Serve it neat, or add a few drops of water to open up the spice and oak. It is a compelling pour alongside the other world rums in our rare and top shelf collection.
