Raising Glasses Union 7 Year Old Single Cask Rum 2017
Raising Glasses Union 7 Year Old Single Cask Rum 2017 is a single cask of Reunion Island rum bottled by Raising Glasses, the American independent bottler run by husband-and-wife team Lorri and John — Folklore Series #19. It was distilled in 2017 at Savanna, the distillery at Bois-Rouge in Saint-Andre in the north of Reunion, an island off the coast of Africa better known for its wild high-ester grand arome rhums; this cask is instead Savanna's traditional molasses rum, run on its column stills. The cask aged across three continents — two years in Reunion, four in the European Union and one in the United States — before bottling in 2025 at full cask strength, 61.7% ABV (123.4 proof), with no sugar, coloring or other additives, in a 375mL bottle. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Three Rivers, One Ocean
The name comes from a Reunion story Raising Glasses retells on the release: three childhood friends — Hindu, Muslim and Christian — debated whose hometown river fed the Great Ocean, climbed a mountain, and laughed when they saw all three rivers empty into the same sea, reuniting every year after to celebrate the united diversity that shapes the island. It is a fitting name for a cask that itself crossed three continents before bottling. Explore more single-cask and island bottlings in our rum collection and across the spirits shelves.
Tasting Notes
Raising Glasses describes Union as having a creamy, buttery mouthfeel with notes of raisin bran, fruity ultra dark Madagascar chocolate, banana and tart green mango — in line with the house's earlier six-year Union cask, and a rich, dessert-leaning take on Savanna's traditional style.
How to Enjoy
Start neat and add water a few drops at a time — at 61.7% ABV the chocolate and banana richness opens in stages. Adventurous drinkers can also set it beside the agricole styles in our rare and top shelf collection to taste the other side of Reunion.
