Raising Glasses Pelee's Fury 2 Mount Gay Finish Rum
Grand arome is Martinique's wild child — a molasses rum made with long, vinasse-driven fermentation at Le Galion distillery, bursting with the kind of funk usually associated with Jamaica. For Pelee's Fury 2, Raising Glasses rested that spirit for ten months in a cask that had held Mount Gay rum from Barbados, and bottled it at 61.5% ABV in a 375mL format. Toffee and spice from Barbados laid over Martinique's untamed tropical fruit — a cross-island collision you will not find anywhere else in our rum collection.

The Story
The series is named for Mount Pelee, the volcano whose 1902 eruption destroyed Saint-Pierre, Martinique's cultural capital — the label art by Razigla and Cait Springer shows the mountain in full fury. Grand arome production at Le Galion is a survivor's tradition: slow fermentations with recycled vinasse that build extraordinary aromatic intensity, most of it historically destined for blending and baking. Raising Glasses bottles it nearly straight, cask finishes and all, and donates 5% of profits to Lesmanicobleus, a Martinique animal welfare group. Tasting Notes
Wild tropical fruit, black olive and candied prune charge out first, then the Barbados cask lands its toffee and warm spice over the top, with salted almond on the long, funky finish.
How to Enjoy
Neat in small pours for the full grand arome experience; it also makes a Mai Tai with genuine volcanic depth. Fans of high-ester Jamaica will feel at home — pair a tasting with the Raising Glasses Ethereal 3 Year Old Madeira Rum 2020 for another island accent.
