The Story
Filumena carries the name of Filumena Lassandro, a figure from Alberta's Prohibition-era rum-running legend — fitting for a bottler whose Folklore Series pairs each rum with a story. Raising Glasses, the Massachusetts independent bottler run by Lorri and John, gives 5% of profits from its Folklore releases to charity. Canadian rum is still a rarity on US shelves; this bottle shows what glacier water, molasses and sherry wood can do together, and it expands the Raising Glasses corner of our rum collection.
Tasting Notes
Dark fruit and burnt caramel lead, with sherried raisin and walnut richness over a firm, dry oak frame and soft tannins — the Oloroso finish is unmistakable, and the finish runs long for a 3 year old.
